Carrusel

To a lost light

I don´t want to write another poem for you: I want to write something to you. You don´t know me and I never knew you, yet I miss you. It´s weird how one can long so badly what was never held: I would have loved to gaze at your eyes, dressed in innocent maturity; next to a valley of heat and dust, a gleam of oblivious hope. Now that I know I will never know, I wish to hear your voice and mine colliding, our hands bonding, our souls tiding. Ever since that day, I try to remain silent, hoping to hear your childish laughter, tickling my ears in oriental winds. Damned those beasts who diminished our meeting: a dream that was born the day you were gone. Damned they who swallowed your light and puked a sea of mourners. Here I am: a simple drop: not from the same waters, yet not less blue. Why isn´t the world calling your name? Why are you not answering? Why are we not moving? My legs are not broken, but how can I, march when my heart is frozen? I´m not drugged, but I´m doped ...

Dear Mr. Stranger

Dear Mister stranger, I guess it may result odd to you being called in such a manner. Please, let me explain myself; you will see it is quite clear once I get this off my chest. I hope my emotions do not mislead me and make me put my foot into my mouth without even noticing. While I write these words, bittersweet memories assault me— laughter, movies, kisses, geeky talks at midnight— I used to cherish them so much, but now they are such a pain in the neck! Like this devilish smile that haunts me when I remember your lies...I´m losing my path again. This is a bitter pill to swallow, but I must go on. After all, some say love is blinding, yet time and loneliness are enlightening (and you gave me a lot of both). Every time you say you love me, it feels like a slap in the face; it is no longer true: now it´s just a phrase. I am sick of searching someone to blame: “was it your coldness? Was I too selfish?” Does it even matter? What I hate the most about you is that I cannot...

Mala actriz

Fría tu llama, no pones pretextos.

Jerome

Jerome When I´m in memoryland I cannot avoid thinking On that dark spot in the pictures My childhood friend Jerome He was really smart He played basket like a pro And he was nice as none His skin might look like onyx But he had a golden heart I remember with sorrow That gloomy summer night When we were throwing at each other Water balloons in the park My dad appeared from nowhere His iron hand grabbed my arm He said something to my pal And dragged me home What a shock was for me to see Hell itself in my father´s eyes Perhaps Jerome didn´t want to burn Or he saw the devil inside What it was I just cannot tell Or maybe I´m too scared All I know is I never saw again My sweet old friend Jerome Oh father! Tell me please from your wooden closed bed, what fearful seed did you put on me? Why in their smiles I see a grim? Why are their eyes such a deep pit? What is this fear to their skin? Why am I always luckier than they? W...
